I see ads for inner shoe supports that provide not only a cushion for the bottom of the foot but arch support.

Will using this type of product avoid or at least delay the formation of bunions?  I am 50 years of age, female and reside in NYC.

Bunions are partly genetic.  Women who wear fashionable high heel and pointy toed shoes, such as those in New York City, may promote the development of a bunion.  Wearing arch supports (or orthotics) may better align the foot and help limit the progression of a bunion.
